Blending New York City’s passion for the performing arts with Hamburg’s no-nonsense business approach…

…to create joyful professional theatre productions and serious artist representation.

Ja, stimmt!

André Rupp founded Transatlantic Theatre Productions out of a lifelong love of live performances and a deep appreciation for the way theatre can inspire connection, belonging, and community. That perspective has been shaped by years of seeking out productions across Germany, The United States, Britain, Canada, and internationally, as well as by a lasting interest in how different theatrical cultures shape what is possible on stage.

He brings an audience member’s instinct and a genuine affection for accessible, audience-friendly work to the company’s vision, along with a particular interest in comedic performances that are sharp, polished, and compelling. He is also drawn to the beauty of the spaces in which live theatre is presented and to the way performance can help us understand people, places, and local cultures.

Together, those interests inform a producing and representation vision grounded in care, clarity, and a strong sense of what resonates with audiences. A vision that puts empathy, joyfulness, and a collaborative spirit at the forefront without sacrificing a realistic sense of the business of theatre.

André currently serves on the Advocacy & Insights Board of the Theatre Development Fund (TDF) in New York City and is an ongoing supporter of performing arts organizations including TDF and the Entertainment Community Fund. He also brings business, research, and publication experience from his career in educational assessment, which informs Transatlantic Theatre Productions’ practical and trustworthy approach to production and representation.
